2017 Chairman of the Board Plaque and Gavel

Presented by: C.J. Muniz, BlueCross BlueShield of Texas and 2018 Board of Directors Chair

Awarded to: Chuck Shore

“As an expression for our sincere appreciation of your outstanding leadership and abilities so generously given to this community. I award you the 2017 Chairman of the Board plaque. For those of you who don’t know Chuck’s gavel disappeared following last year’s annual banquet. It was recovered just a couple of months ago. So, he reigned over this year’s board meetings beautifully without one. Chuck on behalf of the Chamber, I present you with the gavel called the “Persuader” for all those major decisions you will make in retirement. You know like, where to eat tonight or travel to next! You may have entered in a white hat, saving the day here at the Chamber, but now you can let the real Chuck show, Harley and a black cowboy hat. Be bad Chuck! Thank you for your service,” Muniz said.

“The theme I have chosen this year is “Coming Together.” Henry Ford, we all

know who he is. An American captain of industry and business, founder of Ford

Motor Company, once quoted, “Coming Together is a beginning; Keeping

Together is progress; Working Together is success.” Imagine putting a puzzle

together, and as the pieces are attached, the picture becomes more evident. I see

this year as a puzzle, where more pieces will be added, and the picture gets

clearer. As you will notice, the center pieces on the table represent the three

signature buildings in the City. Tom Green County Courthouse, City Hall and the

Visitors Center. The three components, City, County and Chamber must continue

to work together for our businesses, chamber membership and for all citizens

who want to do business. We all want San Angelo to be a place that is easy to do

business in.” — C.J. Muniz"
