ABILENE, Texas — Abilene Christian University is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the latest survey by the Great Colleges to Work For program.
According to an ACU press release, this marks the 13th time ACU has been recognized in the last 14 years and the third consecutive year for ACU to receive the Honor Roll designation.
The 2022 Great Colleges to Work For results, published in the Sept. 16 issue of the The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on an annual survey of a random selection of administrators, faculty members and professional support staff members at colleges and universities in the U.S. who are asked to evaluate their employer on various qualities and characteristics.
Out of the 212 institutions participating in 2022, 68 were recognized as a 2022 Great College to Work For. For the third year in a row and the fourth time in a decade, ACU is also among just 42 institutions nationwide named to the Honor Roll for achievements in six out of 10 possible categories:
● Job Satisfaction & Support
● Compensation & Benefits
● Professional Development
● Mission & Pride
● Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
● Faculty & Staff Well-being
The Honor Roll highlights the top institutions in each size category cited most often across all of the recognition categories. ACU is cited in the 3,000-9,999 students category.
“Our faculty and staff pour into the lives of students and consistently excel in their fields. They are at the heart of our mission and what we do,” said Dr. Phil Schubert, ACU president. “ACU’s board and administration are committed to creating and maintaining a workplace culture that honors and supports employees.”
