Jim Ned, TX — Jim Ned Superintendent Bobby Easterling confirmed that Abilene High baseball coach Ryan Lewis was hired as the new baseball coach at Jim Ned. A school board meeting this morning approved the hiring.
Coach Lewis spent the past 5 seasons coaching Abilene High baseball. His career record with the Eagles is 86-63-1. This previous season, the Eagles went 23-12 and made it to the second round of the playoffs.
The position came open after former Indians coach Vincent Lavallee accepted a baseball coaching job at Seminole High School.
"I'm happy for the new opportunity and I'm happy to have my boys grow up in a small school atmosphere like I did." Ryan Lewis said.
"We're very excited to have him, Coach Lewis, come join us at Jim Ned. I know he's done great things where he's been at Abilene High. Will be a great addition to our coaching staff out here." Athletic Director Jerod Womack said.
"We're just excited that we were able to hire Ryan Lewis as our baseball coach. He's done a great job at Abilene High. And we've had a very successful baseball program here and I'm sure he'll just continue to improve our baseball program." Superintedent Bobby Easterling said.
Lewis will also help coach football. Coach Womack says Lewis will work as the running backs coach and also help defense in some capacity.
