Abilene Police Department detectives are investigating a case of animal cruelty involving two 17-year-old males and a 16-year-old male.
The case comes after a video surfaced on social media depicting the suspects lighting a fowl on fire on a county road and watching it burn to death. The animal appears to have been doused with some type of accelerant, according to the APD.
Detectives became aware of the incident on Jan. 22 and immediately began an investigation.
APD said this is an ongoing investigation and the suspects could face state jail felony cruelty to animal livestock charges.
