SAN ANGELO, TX — ASU integrated back in 1953 and has kept that momentum going.
In 2010 the university earned "Hispanic serving institution status" with 25% of students identifying as Hispanic.
Today is Hispanic enrollment has reached 33%.
ASU Director Becky Brackin says “One thing that really came out of that and was established early on was a multicultural center that still exists and I hope that the Hispanic community really sees Angelo as an avenue for hope at Angelo State.
ASU is 1 of only 4 Texas universities to make the rankings.
