Newly released documents Tuesday state additional information in the Eric Torrez investigation.
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be a single gunshot wound to the head, according to legal documents.
Official complaints, which show probable cause, were requested from Precinct 3 in Tom Green County and sent via email in a PDF .
According to the documents, Torrez, 41, was contacted by Stephen Jennings to place bid on a construction job which authorities said was a 'ploy' to get Torrez away from the Taylor County area.
Once he was away, allegedly, Kristen Jennings, Stephen's wife and the mother of Torrez's children, would travel to Taylor County to retrieve their daughter.
According to a sworn affidavit, Stephen Jennings had sent numerous texts the day of July 21 to David Navarro, 42.
The day Torrez was said to be in the Tom Green County area.
Navarro received messages stating: "the dudes on his way" and "I'm freaking out" and "I don't know what to do" and "I really need to talk to you."
Also on July 21 Navarro met with a woman named Nikki Nash, whom official documents state was previously in an 'intimate relationship' with Navarro.
Nash and Navarro met up at a business located on Sherwood Way in San Angelo, TX.
Per a sworn affidavit, Nash stated Navarro showed her a video of a "Hispanic male that appeared to be sitting down and restrained with his arms to his side."
Further information reads Nash identified the Hispanic male as Torrez and described him as being "beaten, bleeding from his head and mouth area, his eyes were swollen, and he appeared to be beaten up."
On Aug 4. authorities located human remains in a pasture in Crockett County.
Law enforcement later identified the body as Torrez through an autopsy.
