SAN ANGELO, Texas — Tommy Heibert, Harry Thomas and Lane Carter, City Council incumbents, were the only three to file for the May 4 City Council election, according to the City of San Angelo's Public Information Office.
The deadline for write-in candidates to file their candidacy for City Council passed at 5 p.m. Tuesday with no filings.
Hiebert in District 1, Thomas in District 3 and Carter in District 5 are now unopposed in their bids for four-year terms.
The City said assuming the City Council, at its Feb. 26 meeting, cancels the election and declares the trio elected, they will take their oaths of office at the May 7 Council meeting.
