Cold temperatures bringing car troubles

Problems arising with your car from colder temperatures.

ABILENE, TX. — As temperatures begin to drop, you might find your car not wanting to leave the garage.

Problems may arise from battery trouble when you’re attempting to start your car.

"When you ever have extreme cold weather, a lot of times that chemical reaction will slow down to a point where it's insufficient to create the voltage necessary to spin the car over,” says Autocheck Plus mechanic, Brad Barron.

As you’re driving off, the tire pressure light might turn on sometime soon.

"Any drastic temperature change whether it's from cooler temperatures or higher to lower because the volume of the air of the tire would be less than it was under higher temperatures,” says Barron.

Coolant and water pump leaks might be an issue as well as a sudden cold approaches.
