SANTA ANNA, Texas — The City of Santa Anna said its water tank supplies are empty and until Brookesmith SUD can repair and is able to pump water, the City will not have water.
According to a City Facebook post, once water is restored residents will still need to conserve so it does not run out as fast again.
In a press release posted to the City's Facebook it explained that because of conditions recently occurred in the water system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the system to notify all customers to boil water prior to consumption.
To ensure destruction harmful bacteria and other microbes, water used for drinking, cooking and ice-making should be be boiled and cooled before consumption, according to the release.
The boil water notice will remain in effect until further notice.
