The Concho Valley Regional Food Banks is a local non-profit organization that provides agencies and churches with food and groceries for clients in need.

According to a press release, the food bank has been awarded a $10,000 donation from USI Southwest Insurance Services in San Angelo, which will fund approximately 80,000 meals for Concho Valley children and families in need.

Originally, USI Southwest Insurance Services received a $5,000 donation for the food bank through a submission process. Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance offered Ken Roberts, an agent with the insurance company, the opportunity to raise additional funds through social media support through the Make More Happen microsite, AgentGiving.com.

The story was shared at least 500 times throughout a week and raising an additional $5,000, totaling the $10,000 donation.

Throughout 2020, 34 independent agents will be selected for the Make More Happen Awards by Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. The insurance companies will donate up to $340,000 to nonprofits the agents support. To be eligible for the award, agencies submitted an application demonstrating their commitment to a specific non-profit and a photo of the project it worked on.
