SAN ANGELO, Texas — The 46th annual Taste of San Angelo left Concho Valley residents full and satisfied.

This culinary event allows people in the area to taste some of the local restaurants' food in San Angelo. It also shines light on the chefs-in-training who are a part of the culinary programs offered in the area.

“It's just really fun to be out here sharing my creations. In our program, we get to cook all the stuff that you really didn't think you'd be able to cook at home. It’s a really good experience for me because I get to cook more. I wanted to do this culinary program for myself because I know it will be a really good experience for me,” Aaliyah Collins, culinary student at Central High School shared.

Central High School and Lake View High School have continuously opened the knowledge of students to potentially begin a career in culinary arts. One Lake View student said if it wasn’t for the culinary program, he might not have ever known how much he enjoyed cooking.

Board member of the San Angelo Restaurant Association John Fuentes said this event is something students and the community always looks forward to.

“Seeing so many community members and young up-and-coming chefs come out and enjoy the food is always a great thing. Students get the experience of serving and restaurants are able to showcase the food they have to offer,” Fuentes said.

With the local school, restaurants and community support, event organizers look to hold this event again for the 47th time in the future.
