SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Concho Christmas Celebration committee has decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Lights of Christmas Parade because of COVID-19.

According to a Concho Christmas press release, the decision was made in an effort to be respectful of the safety of all the citizens.

Parade chairman Suzanne McGee said this is only the second time the parade has been canceled. The only previous time was approximately 10 years ago because of an ice storm in San Angelo the night prior to the event.

The Tour of Lights will continue as planned with a few modifications  and will comply with all social distancing guidelines since attendees will be in their vehicles.
