SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Hispanic Heritage Committee will host a three-day virtual Dia de los Muertos celebration from Oct. 29-31.
The event is in on honor of Dia de los Muertos, a 4,000-year-old holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and Hispanic communities.
Celebrations include ofrendas decorated with bright yellow marigolds, photos of loved ones and their favorite foods or drinks. The holiday celebrates life and death and exchanges mourning for celebration.
The San Angelo Hispanic Heritage Museum and Cultural Center will host virtual activities throughout the day on its Facebook page.
