SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo Police Department officers were invited to enjoy a free meal in appreciation for their dedication Thursday afternoon at the Concho Pearl Icehouse.

Concho Pearl manager, Heath Webb, said the purpose of the event Thursday was to give something back to the community, reintroduce themselves and allow restaurant staff to gain some experience.

Patrolman Priscilla Massey said she was humbled to be invited and for the meal. Massey said she's had more people approach her and tell her they appreciate what she does. She said she had been considering retiring, but feeling appreciated has motivated her to stay in law enforcement.

Senior Patrolman Officer Abel Nandin said he appreciates the support San Angelo provides to its police department, as well as first responders.

The restaurant will be hosting the officers with the Tom Green Sheriff’s Office and the Angelo State University Police Department from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, as well.
