SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Concho Valley Council of Governments announced Tuesday that it has secured a five-year Head Start/Early Head Start grant from the Administration of Children and Families, through the Department of Health and Human Services.

Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide services to children and families to foster healthy relationships, as well as to ensure continuing education for area youth.

The CVCOG has worked with leadership at the San Angelo Independent School District throughout the application and award process in an effort to provide the highest quality services to the area's most disadvantaged children.

The program will serve children in Tom Green, Schleicher, Menard, Kimble, Crockett, Concho, and Irion counties. In the interest of continuity and collaboration, Head Start and Early Head Start in San Angelo will continue to operate at the Blackshear, Day and Rio Vista campuses.

CVCOG is accepting applications and currently enrolling children for the upcoming school year. For information on enrollment, click here.
