ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault incident that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of North 8th and Hickory streets.
According to an APD press release, the suspect attempted to steal a woman's vehicle while she was inside, but was unsuccessful. The woman was stabbed in the abdomen, but was able to drive to a motor bank where a witness called police. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for the stab wound.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a white tank top. No more identifying information was provided in the release.
Police are investigating and are asking anyone with information or who was in the area and may have seen anything to contact the Abilene Police Department at 325-673-8331.
