Abilene Police investigating string of four robberies that happened in three-hour span

Abilene officers were sent to two convenience stores and two hotels to investigate robberies between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Wednesday.

ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department is working on a string of four robberies that took place within three hours.

According to an APD news release, Wednesday, Jan. 12, dispatch received calls from four separate businesses that were robbed.

• 7:39 p.m. – Convenience store at 700 Veterans Drive was robbed by a man wearing a dark hoodie and facemask, described as heavy set.

• 9:15 p.m. – Convenience store at 3400 Ambler Ave. robbed by possible man wearing dark mask, dark pants and lighter colored jacket.

• 9:43 p.m. – Hotel at 1700 Overland Trail robbed by a man.

• 10:23 p.m. – Hotel at 3000 Catclaw Drive robbed by a man wearing a mask.

The suspect(s) in the convenience store robberies took either money, food or cigarettes.

The suspect(s) in the hotel robberies took an undisclosed amount of money.

The department said it is working to identify the suspect(s) in each of these robberies.
