Arrest by TGCSO deputies nets suspected methamphetamine, stolen firearms

SAN ANGELO, Tom Green County — On Saturday, Jan. 9, Tom Green County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies served an arrest warrant at the San Angelo Lodge, 1717 W. Beauregard Ave.

Deputies made contact and arrested Armando Cruz, 33, for several felony warrants, according to a TGCSO press release.

While making the arrest, drug paraphernalia was observed in the vicinity of where Cruz was placed in custody. Criminal Investigations responded and assisted with a search of the hotel room.

Numerous firearms were found including a stolen AR-15 rifle. A large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was also seized.

A second suspect, Daniel Ruiz, 39, was taken into custody.

The release said additional arrests and charges are pending.
