TEXAS, USA — The Cisco Police Department issued information regarding the arrests of two men after a traffic stop led to a high speed chase through multiple counties and the arrest of two men.

According to the CPD, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 6, CPD's Sgt. Lee Risdon stopped a vehicle speeding on Interstate 20.

After obtaining identification on the driver and the occupant, Risdon discovered that the driver was wanted by the United States Marshal Service.

Troopers Michael West and Russell Reid arrived at the location to assist and the driver took off from the location headed west on I-20. A pursuit began and eventually the driver hit a DPS patrol unit, causing minor damage.

The suspect got to the eastbound lanes of I-20 in Callahan County and was driving speeds of up to 135 mph, CPD said. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers from several counties became involved as the pursuit traveled through Palo Pinto and Erath counties, and eventually ended in Parker County.

The pursuit ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a guard rail and spun out into the median.

Eastland DPS Trooper Brandon Smedley and other area troopers took the driver and passenger into custody.

The pair were identified as Scott DeFee, 29, of Quinlan, and Steve Bose Thomas, 33, of Grand Prairie.

Risdon and Chief Kenneth Preston took the suspects into custody and transported them to Parker County Jail, where they were arraigned on charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle, a third-degree felony. Both men were transported by Cisco officers to the Eastland County Jail, where they were booked for the evading arrest charge.

Defee was also arrested on the federal warrant for federal drug offenses. Other charges may be filed as the investigation progresses, according to Cisco Police.
