DPS seizes marijuana, firearms during traffic stop on US Hwy 87

TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — Last week, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car for speeding on US Hwy 87. 

According to a release from DPS, during the initial conversation, the driver admitted to having a small amount of marijuana.

When the trooper searched the vehicle, they found a small bag of marijuana, two tetrahydrocannabinol vape pens, approximately 19 lbs. of marijuana (in trunk) and two firearms without serial numbers.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for possession of marijuana >5 lbs.<=50 lbs., possession of controlled substance, Penalty Group 2 >1g and unlawful carry.
