Man charged with murder, 3 others on the run after trapping, shooting man in NW Houston, police say

Police said the incident started after a group of men robbed another man for his necklace outside of the Volcan Club in north Houston.

HOUSTON — One man is charged with murder and three others are on the run after a man was trapped and killed in a neighborhood Saturday, according to Houston police.

Police said Jordan Capuchino, 20, was in the parking lot of the Volcan Club on Little York Road at the North Freeway when three men jumped out of a lifted Ford truck and robbed him for his necklace, then drove away.

Capuchino and witnesses followed two vehicles involved in the robbery into the Spring Branch area, police said.

The drivers noticed they were being followed, trapped Capuchino in a cul-de-sac on Maybank Drive, and as Capuchino tried to escape, someone started shooting at him. Police said they found Capuchino with a gunshot wound on the roadway after he ran his vehicle into a tree. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Investigators identified Daniel Medrano, 20 as one of the suspects in the shooting. The HPD Northwest Crime Suppression Team and the HPD Gang Division's Crime Reduction Unit arrested him Saturday.

Surveillance video captured photos of a vehicle involved in the incident.

Anyone with information about the robbery, the shooting or the whereabouts of those involved is asked to contact HPD's Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
