Meth, firearms found at Freeland Avenue home in Street Crimes/SWAT warrant operation

The San Angelo Police Department's Street Crimes Division and SWAT team served a search warrant Wednesday where they found methamphetamine, firearms and paraphernalia in the Freeland Avenue home.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Investigators with the San Angelo Police Department's Street Crimes Division and SWAT team served a search warrant Wednesday at a residence in the 2600 block of Freeland Avenue.

The warrant, issued by District Judge Ben Woodward, named Donald Short, 37, to be in possession of methamphetamine at the home.

Short was found inside the residence and detained during the search, where investigators found and seized a quantity of methamphetamine, altered firearms and narcotic paraphernalia.

Short was arrested for state jail felony possession of controlled substance, Penalty Group 1. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

The department’s Patrol Division, K-9 Unit and the Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with Wednesday’s operation.
