San Angelo PD investigating shooting in north San Angelo

San Angelo Police Department officers were dispatched at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday to the 2800 block of Pecan St. for reports of shots fired.

According to an SAPD press release, Arturo Garcia, 18, has been charged with murder after the early-morning shooting investigation.

SAPD said the report of shots fired call was upgraded to a shooting investigation shortly after.

Responding officers found John Samuel Dagen, 19, of Brady in a nearby alley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the release.

Dagen was transported to Shannon Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Garcia was found walking away from the scene by officers conducting burglary patrol in the neighborhood.

Officers discovered a second shooting happened at the residence.

The two investigations are ongoing and charges are forthcoming according to the release.
