SAPD's Street Crimes Division seizes 2.5 lbs. of suspected meth, $22K in cash, guns, body armor Monday

A 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested during a traffic stop prior to the execution of the search warrant at a home on Ben Ficklin Road.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division investigators obtained warrants of arrest and search Monday for a San Angelo man believed to be trafficking narcotics from his home.

The warrants, issued by Justice of the Peace Susan Werner, named Anthony Durst, 22, to be in possession of narcotics at a home in the 5400 block of Ben Ficklin Road.

Durst was found and detained during a traffic stop just prior to the execution of the search warrant where officers seized approximately two and one half pounds of suspected methamphetamine; approximately $22,500 in U.S. Currency; three firearms; and body armor.

Durst and a female companion, identified as Paulina Vizcaino, 22, have been charged with first-degree felony manufacture delivery of controlled substance Penalty Group 1.

Additional charges may be forthcoming pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation, a release from the SAPD said.

The department’s Patrol Division and the Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with Monday’s operation.
