Teen took elderly woman's lawn mower to 'mow his grandmother's grass,' but sold it instead

An 18-year-old San Angelo man told an elderly woman he needed her riding mower to mow his grandmother's yard. Instead, he sold the mower to a third party.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A 75-year-old woman has her riding lawnmower back, thanks to San Angelo Police.

According to a social media post from the San Angelo Police Department, on March 23, Dallion Holt, 18, took possession of a riding lawn mower from the woman, telling her he needed it to mow his grandmother’s grass. He told her he would return the mower the following day.

After several days, it was discovered Holt had sold the mower to a third party.

Officers located the mower and returned it to the victim.

As a result of the follow-up investigation, an SAPD Criminal Investigators Division detective obtained a warrant of arrest for Holt for the charge of theft of property >=$100<$750 (enhanced).
