TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — Two men were arrested by Tom Green County Sheriff's Office deputies after a home invasion and aggravated robbery in the 5000 block of Pacific Road.
According to a TGCSO press release, at approximately 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call at the Pacific Road location in reference to a home invasion and aggravated robbery which had occurred shortly before the call was made.
Tom Green County Patrol Division deputies and Criminal Investigation Division investigators responded to the scene. During the course of the investigation, it was learned the homeowners were woken up by two intruders inside their home, demanding valuables and firearms. At least one of the intruders was armed with a firearm.
The victims were able to avoid serious injury and later recalled valuable information that would later be used by investigators, the release said.
During the subsequent investigation, two suspects were identified as Zachery Polk and Riley Hill.
Polk was located in the 2100 block of Glenwood Drive. During questioning, Polk was detained and advised he was under arrest. While deputies tried to arrest him, Polk physically resisted deputies. During the struggle, Polk attempted to gain control of a handgun on his person, according to the release.
With the assistance of the San Angelo Police Department, Polk was ultimately subdued and placed under arrest. During an incidental search of Polk, a large fixed blade knife, in addition to the handgun, was found. The handgun was later identified as stolen from a burglary of a habitation that occurred in the early morning hours Jan. 2.
The second suspect, Riley Hill, was later found and arrested in the 600 block of North Jefferson Street.
The investigation is ongoing.
