UPDATE: Suspect in aggravated assault that led to Abilene SWAT incident arrested

ABILENE, Texas — UPDATE: According to the Abilene Police Department, Seth Blake was taken into custody without incident at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday at a north Abilene hotel.

Blake is being charged with violation of parole (no bond) and second-degree felony aggravated assault. Blake was booked into the Taylor County Detention Center with a $400,000 bond.

ORIGINAL STORY: At approximately 9:32 a.m. Friday, Abilene Police responded to the scene of a shooting in the 600 block of Sycamore St., according to an APD press release.

Witnesses advised a 29-year-old Hispanic male had shot a 60-year-old white male.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released and his condition is listed as stable.

The suspect fled the scene into a nearby residence, according to witnesses. Patrol units responded, set a perimeter and attempted to make contact with the suspect.

The SWAT team responded and continued to try to contact the suspect via loud speaker and telephone. Investigators applied for and received both a search and arrest warrant for the suspect, who was identified as Seth Adam Blake. A parole warrant is currently active for the suspect.

After several hours on scene, gas was deployed into the residence. The SWAT team made entry into the residence after exhausting all other means of communication with Blake. Blake was not located in the residence.

Blake is wanted for violation of parole and second degree felony aggravated assault.
