MERKEL, TX. — Renee Pape, is a babysitter in Merkel, Tx. This past summer, Pape stumbled upon a new hobby to get her kids she takes care of involved.
Pape watches countless do it yourself YouTube videos over doll houses and not just any doll houses. They are made from recyclable items.
"I think it gets their mind going more than a tablet would,” says Pape.
From matchboxes to popsicle sticks and even cat litter buckets, Pape uses it all.
“I made one out of a cardboard box and it didn't really hold up really well, it's not very sturdy so that’s when I came up with these buckets,” says Pape.
These dollhouses are not the only project she is working on. Pape plans on making sensory boards for her toddlers.
