Early voting in Tom Green County

Everything you need to know about early voting

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Early voting in Tom Green County is just a day away. The booths will open on Tuesday February 18.

Elections Administrator Vona Hudson gives insight on the simple rules to follow to make sure your early voting is an easy process.

"We are under a photo id law which means they need to be prepared to show a photo ID," said Hudson  "They don't have to have their voter registration certificate they just need their photo ID."

Other notable information, the sites are doing curbside voting. If the voter is unable to come into the poll, they can take the ballot to the car.

Paper ballot can only be done during early voting. If you are trying to do a mail-in ballot, the deadline is February 21.

Hudson said if you are not registered to vote in the county there is some good news.

"If you are registered somewhere in the state of Texas, you can come in during early voting only, and vote what is called a limited ballot," said Hudson "You vote for things in common with between the county where you are registered and our county and that will register you after the election."

Hudson gets excited for early voting. She said it is a privilege to be able to vote.

"A lot of people fought and died for our right to vote. You have an impact on who's going to make the decisions that will affect our life and make the laws that will affect our lives," said Hudson.

The last day to vote early is February 28 from seven a.m. to seven p.m
