ABILENE, Texas — A shaky situation takes place in Snyder, as they experience 3 earthquakes in the last 24 hours.
The United States Geological Survey has recorded 3 quakes with the magnitude of 4.0, 3.8, and 2.5.
Residents report they could feel the quakes send a shake through their homes and workplaces.
According, to USGS, in the last 10 years the West Texas community recorded 85 earthquakes with a magnitude about 2.5
“That area historically has had some earthquakes. They don’t get them all the time but they do time to time.. And sometimes they are large enough to be felt."
'A magnitude 4.0 is considered a light earthquake...people will usually feel a jolt or hear a boom as there house shakes." Said John Bellini, USGS.
The USGS, claims the 3 quakes would be considered a series of small earthquakes rather than an aftershock which can set off an earthquake to follow the initial one.
