When talking about the most popular high school competition of the year in Eden, TX, it's hands down the Menard Yellowjackets. The crowded gym full of screaming fans on both sides of the court during the varsity boys and girls basketball games, proves just that. "Everyone likes Menard as much as the athletes do. Even the parents because they played against Menard in high school. So it's something the community looks forward to" said an excited Lady Bulldog, Devon Kinnibrugh. This comes after she and her team got a huge 72-52 victory against Menard. Kinnibrugh's varsity squad and the boys varsity squad both got wins that secured their number one spot in the district.
The Bulldogs had a slow start but were able to pull out a comeback and take a 71-57 win. The Lady Bulldogs kept a steady 20 point lead the entire game.
The girls are now 7-1 in district. Their only loss was to Bronte earlier in the season. The boys sit 6-0 in district. Both teams take On Cherokee on the road on Friday.
