SAN ANGELO, Texas — Two San Angelo Independent School District high schools held graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 Saturday morning.
The Central High School ceremony took place at San Angelo Stadium, where seniors arrived dressed in their cap and gowns at approximately 7:45 a.m.
Before the graduation ceremony began at San Angelo Stadium, the graduates' families and friends made their way to the stands while videos highlighting the graduates played on a jumbotron.
Teachers and staff provided advice and congratulations via video.
Staff and teachers provided advice such as:
- “Always wear shoes in the dorm showers.”
- “Work hard and focus.”
- “In a world where you can be anything be kind.”
- “Have fun but make good choices.”
The Central High School graduating class was confirmed by Bill Parker, a board trustee.
The Lake View High School ceremony took place at Lake View Stadium, where seniors in their cap and gowns arrived at approximately 8 a.m.
The Lake View High School graduating class was confirmed by Bill Dendle, Board of Education treasurer and presented by Zachary Ramirez.
After all, names were called, the graduates tossed their hats in the air before walking out of the stadium.
Families and friends met the graduates with hugs, cheers and even a few tears.
Phrases such as: “You did it!” and “Congratulations!” could be heard among the crowd.
The ceremonies took place as scheduled and the inclement weather contingency plan the district had in place was not needed.
