SAN ANGELO, Texas — Sunset Mall and La Esperanza Clinic, Inc. are teaming up to celebrate National Health Center Week, a national campaign celebrating community and raising awareness about community health centers across the United States.
Because of COVID-19, social distancing will be required. According to a release from La Esperanza, no walk-ups will be accepted and all must stay in their vehicles.
The Back to School Celebration will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the mall's north entrance, 4001 Sunset Drive. The day marks the kick-off of National Health Center Week, Aug. 9-15. La Esperanza Clinic, Inc. will provide free backpacks to the first 215 children in grades K-5. Local non-profit organizations and other businesses will help fill thee backpacks with school supplies. Free food, provided by the Concho Valley Regional Food Bank, will be available.
Drivers are asked to find a parking space near the mall's north entrance and will be given a ticket for each child grade K-5; the children must be present. Traffic will then be directed, along the inner circle for the remaining portion of the event
Vendors include Sunset Mall, La Esperanza Clinic, Inc., Amerigroup, Concho Valley Regional Food Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Christians in Action, Open Arms Rape Crisis Center, Texas Business Women, Angelo Home Health and Arise Vascular.
