SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Independent School District announced one of its elementary schools received a donation from Burlington Stores.
According to an SAISD press release, the retailer donated $5,000 to Fannin Elementary School teachers for school supplies.
Burlington partnered with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org and gave the donation in celebration of its new store in San Angelo at 4328 Sunset Drive.
AdoptAClassroom.org, Burlington and SAISD worked together to coordinate the donation to Fannin Elementary School. The donation will provide school supplies for each teacher's classroom.
“On behalf of San Angelo ISD and Fannin Elementary, I would like to welcome our new local Burlington store and thank them and AdoptAClassroom.org for their generous donation to our school,” Cathy Humble, Fannin Elementary School principal, said.
Humble and other SAISD staff members joined the local Burlington team at the grand opening event Friday.
“Burlington’s San Angelo store is proud to help our teachers and students in our community get the educational resources they need to succeed." Alex Vega, Burlington store manager, said.
The district said it appreciates the store's commitment to supporting public education, the partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org and the support to Fannin teachers, as well as the students and classrooms.
