San Angelo ISD hiring substitute teachers, providing increased pay incentive

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Independent School District announced Friday it is hiring substitute teachers.

According to an SAISD press release, as an incentive, starting Dec. 1, substitute teachers who work 10 full days a month will be paid at the long-term substitute rate.

The substitute rate for certified teachers is $140 per day and $110 per for non-certified teachers per day. The days do not have to be consecutive and can include assignments at different locations, according to the release.

Benefits include flexible schedules with full or half-day assignments, as well as the incentives.

To apply, applicants can complete an online substitute application and register for orientation, which will be held via Zoom. The next orientation will be held from noon to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18.
