SAN ANGELO, Texas — The San Angelo Independent School District, in accordance with the Texas Department of Health immunizations schedule, will require students to provide proof of immunizations before entry, attendance or transferring to a public elementary or secondary school, either virtually or in-person.

According to an SAISD news release, the district is requesting parents consider scheduling immunizations and be able to provide the record to the child's school with enough time for it to be entered in its tracking system.

The district also said its health services department encourages the use of inhalers with a spacer, if needed, as it will not be offering breathing treatments.

Additionally, students who need breathing treatments may be taken home and returned to campus once the treatments are done. Campus nurses will continue to help students with their inhalers, if needed
