SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center will host the "Feed Your Mind: Nourish Your Inner Self" webinar from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 and can be viewed on Zoom.
According to a TTUHSC press release, the event will feature a presentation from Sara Mallard Wakefield, M.D., chair of the TTUHSC Department of Psychiatry, and Stephanie Moses, Ph.D., TTUHSC associate professor of psychology.
"With the election season, COVID-19 and the upcoming holiday season, we know this is a very stressful time for so many people in our communities,” Angel Knapp Eggers, senior director, said.
Eggers also said she hopes the webinar will provide strategies to help adults and children in current times with purpose and sanity.
"The institute works to promote research specific to women’s health, to provide advanced education to health care professionals and to enrich the lives of women and girls through community programs." She also said the institute is excited to provide these resources to the communities in Amarillo, Lubbock, San Angelo, Midland, Corpus Christi, Dallas and Fort Worth," executive director Connie Tyne said.
The series' third webinar is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 10.
It will feature suggestions on good nutrition and how it can improve health, as well as fight disease. Guest speakers will be Jennifer Phy, D.O., TTUHSC associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology, and Christine Garner, Ph.D.., TTUHSC associate professor of pediatrics.
