The National weather service here in San Angelo is issuing a fire weather watch.
It will take effect on Sunday and last until next Sunday.
The watch means the NWS is preparing for critical fire weather conditions and forecasts to occur
residents do not need to be too concerned but the Texas A&M forest service suggests taking precautions by keeping your grass short
Cason Wood Regional fire coordinator says, “if for some reason a fire does break out in that area. that short grass is going to cause that fire not to spread as rapid as it would if we had or they had tall grass around their structures.”
Wood adds to not leave any fires unattended over the weekend.
Sunday is expected to be the worst day since the winds will be high.
