ABILENE, Texas — A busy time for florist’s everywhere is Valentines Day, but that doesn’t scare away one local floral designer.
Jessica Johnson is the manager and a floral designer at Philpott Florist and Greenhouses. Just last year they had up to 200 requests in only a few days leading up to Valentines.
"There's some guys that are very specific she wants tulips, or she wants red roses and there's some guys that we kind of have to give them advice on what to get,” says Johnson.
From ordering vases to making bows, Johnson says the sweetest thing behind the madness are the love notes she gets to see.
"They normally just write their name, or I love you, but people that order online they actually type very personal creative notes which is always fun to see that,” says Johnson.
The business celebrates it’s 99th year of Valentines in Abilene.
