SAN ANGELO, Texas — Over the extended Fourth of July weekend, Peighton Strickland was rushed to Shannon Medical Center after her legs were caught in a boat propeller while she was swimming in Lake Nasworthy.
According to her father, Lane Strickland, as of Wednesday, she was still under medical care at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.
"She is doing well. She is in good spirits, still have some tests to be run. We are at Cook’s in the ICU. And, we are just on a day-to-day basis right now,” Strickland, said.
Peighton’s father said his daughter appreciates the outpouring of support.
"She's read or seen all the comments on Facebook. And, she knows a lot of people are praying for her, so we just ask that everybody keep her in your prayers,” Lane Strickland said.
The family does not have an official fundraiser set up to help with medical expenses; instead they ask for prayers and support from the community.
