ABILENE, Texas — The Long Early Learning Center in Abilene has a lot of heart under one roof with 853 little bodies running around.
"Everybody here is 3 or 4 years old-- it’s a lot.! It’s a lot every day! But we love it" said Director of Early Learning Jenny Putnam.
From the outside looking in, it's your average day care program but Putnam says that for the children and the staff of the Long Early Learning Center.... It's a place they look forward to every day.
"ever since I’ve been at this campus they just taught me a lot of things I didn’t think I’d ever know... I’m happy to be a part of the team" said Head Custodian Henry Brown.
Head Start is a program designed around school readiness.
The goal is to prep children from birth to 4 years old for kindergarten.
