SAN ANGELO, Texas — Howard College campuses, including San Angelo, will extend Spring Break for students through March 22. Staff and faculty will report March 16 to prepare for the return of students.

The San Angelo Independent School District said in a press release, "At this time, we are not canceling any classes unless advised to do so by local health officials."

So far, Angelo State, McMurry and Abilene Christian universities have extended Spring Break for students out of an abundance of caution regarding the spread of the coronavirus.

Abilene Independent School District said on its website Thursday, "Our administration is meeting tomorrow morning with other area superintendents and school leaders to finalize plans moving forward. We will issue community-wide communication tomorrow afternoon."
