TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — Pre-registration for the COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna) via the San Angelo Health Department is now open, according to a release from the City of San Angelo's Public Information Office.

The health department is still waiting for its next shipment of vaccines to be allocated and delivered by the state. There is not a date yet for when the next shipment of vaccines will be received, or when the next vaccination clinic will be held.

The registration process is open to residents of Tom Green County who are over the age of 65 years old and who do not have a primary care physician. Priority will be given to people who do not have a primary care physician.

Once the health department has received its shipment of vaccines, staff will contact people on the waiting list to start the process of scheduling their vaccinations.

Residents can register at cosatx.us/VaccineForm.

Information on filling out vaccination forms in person will be released in the coming days.

The release said those who qualify for Phase 1A or Phase 1B priority groups are encouraged to contact their local health care provider or primary care physician to inquire about how they can receive the vaccine.
