Taylor Co. COVID-19-related deaths rise to 251 Thursday

ABILENE, Taylor County — The Abilene-Taylor County Health District confirmed four additional COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County Thursday.

The patients were:

  • a man in his 70s with pre-existing health conditions; 
  • a man in his 70s;
  • a woman in her 60s with pre-existing health conditions;
  • a man in his 60s. 

No additional information was available at the time of the release for the second man in his 70s and the man in his 60s.

The new deaths bring the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Taylor County to 251.

The health district said there were 85 new confirmed COVID-19 cases - 34 PCR and 51 antigen.

One-hundred-twenty-seven recoveries were also reported, bringing the total number of recoveries to 10,767.

There were 124 hospitalizations included in the report.

There have been 45,452 PCR and 63,104 antigen tests administered in Taylor County, of which, 6,176 PCR and 7,366 antigen tests were confirmed cases.

There were also 39,276 negative PCR and 55,738 negative antigen test results reported.
