SAN ANGELO, Texas — Planet Fitness members will be able to return to their workout schedules Monday, according to a media representative from the company.

On Nov. 20, some members received an email from Planet Fitness informing them the location would be temporarily closed.

A message on the gym's website said the gym was closed for damages because of inclement weather. That message was removed Dec. 4. Members were directed to use the Odessa and Abilene locations for their workout needs while repairs were being made locally.

A statement from Planet Fitness headquarters said:

"There’s been great progress on the repairs at the San Angelo Planet Fitness location and it is expected to be open on Monday. We ask that members check email, the Planet Fitness website, and the club’s Facebook page for updates. The local franchisee is grateful for its employees, who have been compensated during the closure, and the community’s patience and would like to note that members will not be billed for the month of December due to these unforeseen circumstances."

A member appreciation celebration with food, games and prizes will be held at the location and it is open to the public.
