TOM GREEN COUNTY, Texas — The City of San Angelo Public Information Office reported two new COVID-19 cases for Tom Green County Thursday.
The two new cases are:
- Hispanic male in his 20s, considered exposure to a known case; resident of Tom Green County.
- White male in his 30s, considered exposure to a known case; resident of Tom Green County.
There have been 3,167 tests administered in Tom Green County. Of those tests, 3,015 were negative results and 95 were positive results.
There are 57 tests pending results and one person is currently hospitalized.
The City also released numbers from the Texas Military Department testing events, which are included in Friday's numbers.
- Six pending results from the May 6 event were negative results.
- All results from the 138 tests administered at the May 16 event were negative.
Based on final investigations, the City made some clarifications on testing numbers.
Four cases who were originally attributed to Tom Green County were removed and added to their county of residence. Of those cases two were out-of-state; one was from Brazoria/Harris County; and one from Montague.
There was one case removed from the number of active cases last week in error. The case has been added into the number of active cases.
The City also stated it will be moving from a daily report to a weekly report for COVID-19 testing numbers, beginning Friday, May 29.
The breakdown going forward includes reporting whether or not new daily positive case are reported and providing a weekly updated on Fridays.
The weekly updated will include:
- Released cases
- Total tests
- Negative tests
- Pending tests
- Demographic sheet update
- County of residence sheet update
The decision was made based on the consistently-low number of registered positives and incoming tests. The City will continue to share daily if there are any new reported cases or not. All other information will be in the weekly update Friday.
