MILES, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a release Justin Dunway Friar, 33, of Georgetown, was arrested Tuesday evening after being found at a home in Miles.
DPS troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Cadillac Escalade in Brady late Monday night when the driver, later identified as Friar, attempted to discharge a firearm out the driver's side window, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Law enforcement searched for Friar throughout the day and found him in Miles, where he was taken into custody at approximately 7:30 p.m. by DPS troopers, special agents and Texas Rangers without incident.
Friar was wanted for aggravated assault against a public servant. Texas DPS has issued a statement Tuesday afternoon saying Friar was considered armed and dangerous and asked the public to not approach him. Crime Stopper groups in the area ran tip lines for information.
