SAN ANGELO, Texas — It’s another week without a paycheck for federal workers, some are here, in West Texas.

Currently, there are 18 TSA agents working at San Angelo Regional Airport without pay.

To help keep food on their tables, Johnsons Funeral Home and the Knights of Columbus joined forces to collect donations of food and household items.

"I just plainly asked them, are you being helped? They said, yes one church helped us, that's about it. it’s going to be two paychecks we haven't gotten. Well then we need to do something about this,” Eulogio Diaz, Johnsons Funeral Home, said.

The items were distributed Thursday and if the government shutdown continues, Diaz said the group will provide groceries again for the families.

"If this continues, then we are going to have to step up again. You know, we have to help our neighbors no matter what,” Diaz said.
