SAN ANGELO, Texas — AEP Texas officially dedicated its new state-of-the-art Transmission Service Center facility in San Angelo, March 19. The new 75,500 square-foot facility is on a 52-acre site at 1129 Gateway Drive.

“We are very proud of this facility because while it is indeed state-of-the-art, it was built with a strategic purpose,” Thomas M. Coad, AEP Texas vice president of Distribution Region Operations, said in a press release. “It was designed with high energy efficiency standards, which means we will save on energy costs and operate more efficiently; it also provides the space to serve our ever-growing transmission-related business here in Texas.”

The building incorporates energy-efficient and environmentally-responsible design principles and will house 35 employees, according to Dan Boezio, vice-president of Transmission Field Services. The facility will support not only the San Angelo area, but also the western part of the AEP Texas service territory.

“At AEP Texas, we are keenly aware of the importance of preparing for and addressing our customer’s needs—both now and in the future,” Boezio said. “Here at our Transmission operations, we want to do everything possible to meet that expectation.”
