VERIBEST, Texas — On a chilly Veterans Day morning in Veribest, students, staff, guests and Goodfellow Air Force Base personnel gathered for a flag retirement ceremony.
A flag, once flown over GAFB, then at Veribest, was retired after years of display; and a new flag was raised.
The fire pit used to properly dispose of the flag was designed and built by the ag students at the campus.

Fifth-graders, all the way up to members of the senior class, took part in retiring portions of the flag during the ceremony. They were followed to the fire pit by military veterans, who saluted as they watched the flag disappear into the flames.
